Location
Hilda Cottage is in enviable position, just a few steps to the beach and coastal path and a short stroll to local shops. Bembridge Village and various eateries are all within walking distance.
Bembridge is situated at the most easterly point of the Isle of Wight, just 20 minutes from the ferry terminal at Fishbourne, and claims to be the largest village in England. It has a small airport, a harbour, two sailing clubs and an impressive lifeboat station as well as a fishmonger, butcher, baker, farm shop and other village stores
Bembridge boasts an array of eateries to suit all tastes and most are within easy walking distance. The Beach Hut café, The Crab & Lobster Inn and The Birdham are all within a five minute walk.
Lane End beach is just a minute’s walk away and whilst largely shingle it also has sandy areas. As the tide recedes rock pools are revealed, providing hours of fun of shrimping and crabbing.
Quaint independent stores can be found in Bembridge Village; fishmonger, bakery, butcher, delicatessen, farm shop, florist, pharmacy as well as shops selling lovely things for the home.
The 67 miles of well-maintained coastal paths is a fantastic way of seeing the broad variety of coastal scenery around the island.
